Super Bowl XLIX Interception

The New England Patriots ended the Seattle Seahawks’ brief reign as Super Bowl champions with a last-minute interception. With a mere 26 seconds remaining, Russell Wilson’s pass was intercepted by Patriots rookie, Malcolm Butler. This game-saving grab won the game for the Patriots, crowning them the new Super Bowl champions, and igniting passionate fan reactions on YouTube:

SNL40 – “Celebrity Jeopardy”

Saturday Night Live celebrated its 40th anniversary with a three-hour special hosted by Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon. The night was spent reminiscing and recapping the show’s funniest moments and favorite characters over the years. One of the biggest hits of the night was the skit, “Celebrity Jeopardy,” hosted by Alex Trebek (or, Will Ferrell), who tries to control the unruly contestants, Sean Connery (Darrell Hammond), Justin Bieber (Kate McKinnon), and Matthew McConaughey (Jim Carrey).

Thundersnow in Boston

Jim Cantore, meteorologist for The Weather Channel, would rather be in the midst of thundersnow than win the lottery. “Yes! We got it baby!” he exclaimed. His wildly enthusiastic reaction has since gone viral, with nearly 4 million views in just over a week. Looks like that double rainbow guy has some competition.

Puzzle & Dragons

As many of you already know, video games are rapidly dominating YouTube. Puzzle & Dragons is a massively popular and addictive mobile game that has become one of the top-grossing iOS apps. The game is particularly successful throughout Japan and Asia. Fans of the game are sharing their live streams, tips, and commentary on YouTube. In April, a Super Mario Bros-themed puzzle will be released, increasing the hype to even greater heights.

Lilly Singh

Lilly Singh, who goes by the moniker Superwoman, is an Indo-Canadian comedian and YouTube personality with over 5 million subscribers to her channel. She is known for her satirical videos and comedic impressions of her mother and father. Her recent video of her “parents” reacting to the scandalous Fifty Shades of Grey trailer has her fans dying of laughter (and watching the clip over and over).
